Selection Process For UPSC Geo Scientist Vacancy 2024
Stage 1: Preliminary Examination
- The Preliminary Examination is an objective-type test consisting of two papers. The marks obtained in this stage are crucial as they will be considered when determining the final merit list.
Stage 2: Mains Examination
- The Mains Examination is a descriptive-type test comprising three papers. Like the Preliminary Exam, the marks secured in this stage are also counted towards the final merit.
Stage 3: Personality Test/Interview
- This final stage is a Personality Test or Interview, carrying a total of 200 marks. There are no minimum qualifying marks for this stage. The number of candidates invited to the interview will be approximately twice the number of available vacancies. The interview will evaluate the candidate’s leadership abilities, initiative, intellectual curiosity, tact, and other social skills.
